- 30ml (2 Tbsp) Fresh Orange Juice
- 5ml (1 tsp) Orange Zest
- 2g (ยฝ tsp) Grated Fresh Ginger
- 2g (ยฝ tsp) Ground Cardamom (optional)
- 15g (ยผ cup) Toasted Sliced Almonds
- Powdered Sugar โ for dusting
Instructions
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Prepare Wet Ingredients: Whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Form the Dough: Combine wet and dry ingredients, stir until just combined, and rest for 30 minutes.
- Heat the Oil: Heat oil to 180ยฐC (350ยฐF).
- Roll and Cut Dough: Roll dough to 1cm thickness and cut into squares.
- Fry the Beignets: Fry in batches until golden brown.
- Make the Glaze: Simmer honey, orange juice, zest, and ginger.
- Glaze Beignets: Toss warm beignets in warm glaze.
