  • 240 ml (1 cup) unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) olive oil
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) all-purpose flour
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) halal soy sauce
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) dried thyme
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) black pepper
  • 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) salt
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) halal-certified shredded cheddar cheese
  • 30 g (2 tbsp) fresh chives, sliced
  • 5 g (1 tsp) smoked paprika (garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep Oven & Dish: Preheat oven to 190ยฐC (375ยฐF) and grease a 23×33 cm (9×13 in) casserole dish.
  2. Sautรฉ Vegetables: Sautรฉ diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic in olive oil until softened.
  3. Brown Sausage: Brown turkey sausage, seasoning with paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Make Roux: Stir flour into sausage mixture and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Build Gravy: Whisk in broth and almond milk, then simmer until thickened.
  6. Layer Casserole: Arrange biscuits in the dish, top with sausage mixture, and pour gravy over.
  7. Add Cheese: Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top.
