Description

- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 16 ounces ground beef
- 1 Tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- ยฝ teaspoon ground cumin
- ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder
- ยฝ teaspoon onion powder
- ยฝ teaspoon dried oregano
- 16 ounces Velveeta cheese (cubed)
- ยพ cup salsa (mild, medium or hot)
- Tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- Step 1: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks.
- Step 2: Drain excess fat. Add the spices and mix well to coat the beef. Cook for 1 minute longer.
- Step 3: Add the cubed Velveeta cheese and salsa. Stir constantly until cheese is melted and well incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
- Step 4: Transfer melted cheese dip to a slow cooker or oven-safe dish to keep warm for serving.
Notes
Skip the spices and add 2 tablespoons taco seasoning, low sodium recommended. Make this recipe 2 to 3 days in advance. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat over low heat or in a crockpot.
