Description

This cheesy hamburger dip is the perfect appetizer for game day. It has the ideal creamy consistency, great flavor, and the recipe can easily be doubled for a large crowd. Bring this crowd pleaser to your next party!


Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 16 ounces ground beef
  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • ยฝ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ยฝ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ยฝ teaspoon onion powder
  • ยฝ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 16 ounces Velveeta cheese (cubed)
  • ยพ cup salsa (mild, medium or hot)
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks.
  2. Step 2: Drain excess fat. Add the spices and mix well to coat the beef. Cook for 1 minute longer.
  3. Step 3: Add the cubed Velveeta cheese and salsa. Stir constantly until cheese is melted and well incorporated, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Transfer melted cheese dip to a slow cooker or oven-safe dish to keep warm for serving.

Notes

Skip the spices and add 2 tablespoons taco seasoning, low sodium recommended. Make this recipe 2 to 3 days in advance. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat over low heat or in a crockpot.
